“Responding to the Call of the Nation: Khatwa Humanity Organization Supports the Sudanese Women’s Union Convoy to Al-Kurmuk”

The Sudanese Women’s Union in East Nile locality, in collaboration with Khatwa Humanity Organization, has dispatched a comprehensive humanitarian aid convoy to the Al-Kurmuk area, in response to the difficult humanitarian conditions faced by citizens due to displacement and its repercussions.
Ms. Amal Banaga, Head of the Sudanese Women’s Union in East Nile locality, affirmed that the convoy comes within the framework of the Union’s social and humanitarian role. She praised the effective partnership with Khatwa Humanity Organization, led by Ms. Banda John, noting that the organization has always been at the forefront of charitable and humanitarian work.
She explained that the convoy included food supplies and various clothing items, collected through wide contributions from residents of East Nile locality, in addition to support from official bodies and security forces—reflecting unity, solidarity, and strong community cohesion.
Amal commended the significant role played by the locality administration, appreciating the contributions of the Executive Director, Mortada Yaqoub Banaga, and his continuous support for the Women’s Union programs, as well as his commitment to women’s issues and empowerment.
She reaffirmed that Sudanese women continue to lead in humanitarian and community work, supported by state institutions and society, stressing that such initiatives reflect the spirit of national solidarity and confirm that Sudan will remain “one hand” in facing challenges.
She concluded by praising the ongoing developmental role of Khutwa Humanitarian Organization and its tangible contributions to supporting women and promoting community development projects.
For her part, Ms. Banda John, Head of Khatwa Humanity Organization, stated that the convoy comes as part of the organization’s humanitarian and national duty, and its commitment to standing alongside those affected by displacement and the exceptional circumstances facing the region.
She confirmed that interventions will continue through the provision of food, health, and shelter support to the most vulnerable families.
Banda John also praised the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between official institutions and civil society organizations, considering joint efforts as the cornerstone for alleviating suffering and strengthening the resilience of citizens, especially in conflict-affected areas.
She further called on all organizations and supporting entities to intensify their humanitarian efforts and expand the scope of response to reach a greater number of affected people, emphasizing that this stage requires unity and collective action to restore stability and build a safe and secure society.
