Thabat Project Enhances Awareness in Rural Communities

SFPA – River Nile Branch – Secretary General Atiyat Mustafa Honored for Assuming the Presidency of the Women’s Committee in the Federation of Transport Workers’ Unions of the Nile Basin Countries

The Executive Director of the Sudan Family Planning Association – River Nile State – Ms. Kawthar Mohamed Ibrahim, stated that the Thabat Project, sponsored by the World Bank and supervised by UNICEF, has a positive impact on training healthcare professionals to promote reproductive health.

Speaking at the Ramadan breakfast and closing ceremony of the training course on the Integrated Treatment Protocol for Childhood Illnesses from the age of five in Atbara, which included 50 trainees from the localities of Ed- Damar and Shendi, she added that the trainees received advanced training in therapeutic nutrition to gain guidance expertise.

For his part, the workshop’s representative, Mohamed Al-Khatim, affirmed that the workshop contributes to promoting health through treatment centers and raising awareness about childhood diseases, which in turn contributes to reducing child mortality. He commended the growing role of the SFPA – River Nile State – in training health personnel in the state, which contributes to improving reproductive health.

SFPA – River Nile River State – honored Ms.Atiyat Mustafa Babiker, the association’s Secretary-General, for winning the presidency of the Women’s Committee in the Federation of Transport Workers’ Unions of the Nile Basin Countries.

The closing ceremony was graced by representatives from River Nile State Ministry of Health, civil society organizations in the state, and members of the SFPA – River Nile State – executive committee.
