The International Health Regulations Department at the General Directorate of Health Emergencies and Epidemic Control held a monthly periodic meeting today in the Great Hall of the Federal Ministry of Health in Khartoum to follow up on the implementation of the requirements of the International Health Regulations, in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and in the presence of the competent authorities.

The meeting reviewed the results of the 2025 report, which confirmed that the implementation rate of activities from all departments, ministries, and relevant authorities reached 53%. It also reviewed the monthly plans to strengthen basic capacities and find a mechanism to finance the plans of the International Health Regulations.

The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker, directed that the annual implementation rates be determined and how to reach them, while emphasizing the preservation of what has been achieved. He noted that the gaps must be filled by intensifying work on them.
