Driver Crisis Disrupts Militia Supply from Kufra

Contractors transporting military supplies for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) from the Libyan city of Kufra to Darfur have increased truck drivers’ wages tenfold, yet they have received no response!

Sources in Kufra said that the contractors – who appeared to be in a hurry – offered truck drivers 200,000 Libyan dinars instead of 20,000 per driver. However, the drivers remain reluctant to take the risk after Sudanese drone strikes targeted supply convoys entering Darfur from Libya in recent days, destroying trucks and killing a large number of drivers.

Sources added that three days ago, tractors entering Sudan were targeted, and that the surviving drivers are currently receiving treatment in hospitals in Kufra for varying injuries.

Eastern Libya, controlled by General Khalifa Haftar and his sons, constitutes one of the most important supply routes for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
