Minister of Higher Education: Student Activities Are a Key Pillar for Building the Nation

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Mudawi Moussa, confirmed that the state of Khartoum is witnessing a remarkable recovery from the effects of the war, pointing to the return of stability to its quarters, thanks to the efforts of the armed forces and the forces supporting them. He stressed the continuation of support for them until the liberation of the last inch of the country.
This came when he addressed the activities of the Great Cultural Night, which was held at Al-Khansaa Dormitory for Female Students in the city of Omdurman, in honor of the Fifth Forum of Student Activities Directors in the States, under the generous patronage of Ahmed Osman Hamza, Governor of Khartoum State and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fund in the state, and in the presence of Dr. Mortada Ali Osman, Director of the Ministerial Executive Office, and the Secretaries of Student Activities
in the States, and a large number of students.
The Minister explained that student activities are not entertainment but are an integral part of the educational process, as they play an active role in building the integrated personality of university students, developing their mental and physical abilities, and enhancing their national and community awareness.
He stressed his ministry’s keenness to support and activate activities within higher education institutions, encourage creativity, extracurricular activities, and work in a team spirit in a way that contributes to reconstruction, building the nation, and consolidating the values of belonging and sacrifice.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed (Kaltos), Secretary of the National Fund for Student Welfare in Khartoum State, welcomed the attendees, praising the great role played by the Minister of Higher Education in supporting students’ issues and his continuous follow-up on the reconstruction files and the creation of the student environment in the state.
Major General Tariq Abdullah, Director of the General Directorate of the University Security Police, stressed that the protection of students represents a moral duty and a top priority. He emphasized the continuation of coordination with the competent authorities to provide a safe and stimulating residential and educational environment within residential complexes and universities. He also praised the efforts of the Secretary-General of the Fund in the state in following up and coordinating work to improve the university environment.
