The Sudanese Physicians Association in the United States (SAPA), with the active partnership and generous support of Islamic Relief USA, announces the opening of the Bahri Teaching Hospital following the completion of rehabilitation and maintenance works in accordance with international standards, in the presence of the country’s leaders and humanitarian partners.
The inauguration marks a milestone in SAPA’s national project to restart health institutions, as one of the state’s largest reference facilities is back in service, receiving patients and providing health care to hundreds of thousands of citizens after a long period of shutdown and destruction.
The reopening of Bahri Hospital embodies the spirit of joint action and confirms that the city of Bahri is steadily moving towards recovery, and that the health system can rebound when national efforts are integrated with responsible international partnerships.
