Secretary-General of the Council for International People’s Friendship Receives Director of AcoGaps and other Prominent Officials 

In a meeting brimming with meaning and profound insight, the Secretary-General of the

Council for International People’s Friendship met at her office with Dr. Mahmoud Zain Al-Abidine, Director of the African Center for Governance, Peace, and Transition Studies (AcoGaps); Mohamed Sharaf El-Din, an expert in organizations and volunteer work; and Musa Daoud, a journalist and media consultant.

Ms Salwa Mahjoub, the Secretary-General of the Council, warmly welcomed the delegation from the AcoGaps emphasizing the value and scope of the partnership. She affirmed that this meeting comes within the framework of a serious effort to renew cooperation and develop people’s diplomacy according to a well-considered strategy that responds to the challenges of the current stage and invests in Sudan’s soft power.

In her remarks, Ms. Salwa Mahjoub stressed the importance of disseminating Sudanese culture as an inexhaustible national treasure, a unifying culture manifested in Sudan’s diverse landscape, its deep-rooted historical heritage, its multilingualism, its distinct cultural rhythms, its rich folklore, its diverse community activities, and its varied colors and features. She emphasized that this diversity is not a cultural luxury, but a human value and a civilizational message that should be presented to the world with confidence, intelligent programs, and creative tools capable of resonating with the hearts and minds of people.

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Zain Al-Abidine addressed the importance of strategic planning in the field of public diplomacy and the necessity of developing Sudanese cultural content to be presented through cultural exchange programs, artistic visits, and sporting activities, considering them as soft bridges for communication and trust-building. He affirmed that popular diplomacy, when managed according to well-studied scientific programs, is capable of supporting the official efforts of the state and enhancing Sudan’s presence in international forums, especially in this critical juncture.

The meeting affirmed the necessity of cooperation and joint action between the Council and the Center, in order to achieve complementary roles and elevate the value of a sustainable institutional partnership.

The meeting commended the heroism and victories of the Armed Forces, the Joint Forces, and other supporting forces in the Battle of Dignity, affirming their full support for the Battle of Dignity and the Sudanese people’s choice to defeat the terrorist rebel militia. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Mahmoud Zain Al-Abidine expressed his thanks and appreciation to Professor Salwa Mahjoub and the members of the Council for the warm welcome and high level of treatment, praising their remarkable ability to communicate constructively and positively with societies, reflecting the spirit of people’s diplomacy in its noblest form.
