UN official visits Al-Dabba camp and expresses his shock

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, tweeted that he spent time at a reception site in Ad-Dabbah, northern Sudan, where he met people who had arrived from El Fasher with harrowing accounts of killings, rapes, and looting perpetrated by armed men affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces militia.
He stressed that the war in Sudan must end immediately, emphasizing the urgent need for increased international funding to assist survivors.
Grandi emphasized that the international community must provide additional resources to support the humanitarian response, stressing that survivors need life-saving assistance amidst dire conditions.
He added that the continuation of the war exacerbates suffering and threatens the stability of the region, calling for urgent international action to end the conflict and ensure the protection of civilians.
