Unilateral Ceasefire Violated Less Than 24 Hours

Forces affiliated with the SPLM-N (al-Hilu faction) and elements of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked the al-Zalataya mine in the Tebessa administrative unit of al-Abbasiya locality, South Kordofan State, on Tuesday, marking the first violation of the unilaterally declared humanitarian ceasefire.
According to confirmed information from the Sudanese Doctors Network, more than 150 young men and a number of minors were forcibly abducted for recruitment, in a direct attack on civilians.
The network held the SPLM-N and the RSF fully responsible for the crime and demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all those abducted, an end to all forms of forced recruitment, and urgent access for humanitarian organizations to the area to provide medical care and relief to the affected local community.
