Minnawi: Foreign Intelligence Cut Off Communication Between Forces in El Fasher and Command Centers
The governor of Darfur, Minni Arko Minnawi, stated on Tuesday that foreign intelligence agencies were involved in assisting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia by cutting off satellite communications between forces in El Fasher and their command centers.
The RSF militia seized control of El Fasher last Saturday, and its members committed atrocities against unarmed civilians.
In a televised address, Minawi said, “El Fasher would not have fallen had the aggressor states not mobilized all their material, logistical, and intelligence resources.”
He indicated that this mobilization reached the point of enlisting intelligence agencies in the surrounding region to sever satellite communication between the forces and command centers in other cities, and that they succeeded in doing so. He acknowledged mistakes and failures, holding everyone responsible, and called for their rectification to protect the country from what he described as an invasion.
Minnawi stated that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) had become a fragile force, with all its leaders killed, forcing it to rely on mercenaries and drones, which he claimed were operated from abroad, in addition to communication jamming technology provided by foreign intelligence agencies.
He vowed to continue fighting to liberate all of Sudan’s territory, emphasizing that Darfur is an integral part of Sudan.
He added, “To guarantee the unity of Sudan, the tool used by the occupying forces—the Rapid Support Forces—must be defeated. This is an existential battle that will not end with the fall of a single city.”
He indicated that the RSF committed massacres and atrocities in El Fasher without distinguishing between combatants, children, the elderly, and women, explaining that they had warned their fighters before the invasion of El Fasher against filming the criminal acts in order to conceal the truth. Minnawi revealed that the Rapid Support Forces’ criminality had reached the point of slaughtering a citizen in the streets of Nyala, South Darfur, in celebration of their takeover of the army base in El Fasher.
