The Ministry of Culture and Information issues a statement on the crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia in El Fasher and Bara

The Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism condemns in the strongest terms the heinous and horrific crimes committed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia against innocent civilians in the cities of El Fasher and Bara. This militia continues to commit brutal massacres, murder, torture, looting, and plunder against unarmed civilians, in a scene that embodies the most horrific forms of human rights violations and disregard for the sanctity of life.

The militia’s crimes on the outskirts of El Fasher have targeted large numbers of civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. These violations are shocking to humanity, and coincide with the horrific crimes witnessed in Bara. This reflects an organized approach to murder and terrorism practiced by these outlaw gangs wherever they are found.

These systematic criminal acts confirm the aggressive nature of this militia and the complete lack of human values ​​and norms among its leaders and members, who have shed the blood of innocents and persisted in practicing the most heinous forms of brutality and terror.

While the Ministry expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of these heinous crimes, it calls on the international community, United Nations organizations, human rights organizations, and the media to assume their moral, legal, and humanitarian responsibilities and condemn these flagrant violations, which constitute full-fledged war crimes and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and all international conventions guaranteeing the protection of civilians.
