The training of trainers on nutrition during emergencies concludes

The National Nutrition Program at the Federal Ministry of Health in Kassala concluded the training of trainers on nutrition during emergencies, targeting the states of Gezira, Khartoum, Sennar, and Kassala. The closing day witnessed the development and discussion of plans (challenges, causes, solutions, and interventions).

The session recommended the preparation of a unified preparedness plan to confront emergencies, the issuance of directives to correct the course of organizations working in the states, the sharing of technical agreements with the nutrition program, in addition to the participation of surveys by the nutritionist with the local community, the inclusion of awareness and nutrition messages during the general distribution of food, especially the messages of subsidized foods, and the preparation of guidelines for the general distribution of food that governs its distribution at the community level and camps, in addition to conducting research to benefit from local and forest products during the emergency period

The head of the community treatment unit at the program, Iman Swar Al-Dahab, described the course as distinguished for the response and enrichment of the discussion from the participants, leading to solutions for nutrition during emergencies with Sudanese expertise and experiences that speak to reality.

UNICEF Emergency Nutrition Officer Asma Qamar confirmed the readiness to continue the support, noting that the training came on time in light of the conditions the country is experiencing.
