Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments Announces the Beginning of Initial Registration for Hajj 1447

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments announced the beginning of initial registration for those wishing to perform Hajj for the year 1447 AH in all states of Sudan.

The Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Bashir Haroun Abdel Karim Abdullah, directed the Supreme Council for Hajj and Umrah and Hajj secretaries in the states, through the governors, to adhere to the new Saudi health requirements for the selection of pilgrims for this year.

The letter from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated that those wishing to perform Hajj this year must submit a certificate issued by the Ministry of Health proving that they are free of disease, in accordance with the following instructions and health requirements:

1. Failure of a major organ (heart, lungs, liver, kidney).

2. Neurological or psychological diseases that impair cognition or are accompanied by severe motor impairment.

3. Old age accompanied by dementia.

4. Pregnancy in the last two months or a high-risk pregnancy at any stage.

5. Active cancer requiring chemotherapy, biological therapy, or radiation therapy.

6. Active infectious diseases that affect public health, such as open tuberculosis (pulmonary tuberculosis).

The Ministry noted that it will coordinate with the Ministry of Health to conduct the necessary medical examinations for all pilgrims wishing to perform Hajj, to ensure their safety and freedom from the aforementioned diseases, while fully adhering to the required health requirements.

The Ministry also noted that the Hajj cost will be announced later at a press conference after the completion of the service package arrangements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
