HAC commends the role of organizations in promoting humanitarian wok

The Commissioner-General of Humanitarian Aid, Ms. Salwa Adam Baniya, met today in Dongola with Lieutenant General Abdel Rahman Abdel Hamid, Governor of Northern State.

The meeting reviewed the state’s growing role in hosting displaced persons, protecting and securing the state from the threats of war, and preserving its people, stabilizing their livelihoods, and providing services.

For his part, the Governor of Northern State thanked the Commissioner-General of Humanitarian Aid for the distinguished services provided by the Commission and for monitoring the activities of organizations in various states of Sudan.

Separately, the Commissioner-General of Humanitarian Aid held a joint coordination meeting with national and foreign organizations in the state, attended by the State Council of Ministers and the Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid, Dr. Wa’el Mohamed Sharif.

The ministers reviewed the plans of their ministries, along with the humanitarian activity in the state.

Ms. Salwa also commended the role of foreign organizations in the humanitarian work they are undertaking in the Northern State and in developing agriculture, moving from self-sufficiency to production and abundance.
She also commended the close coordination between all sectors with the work of the State Commission, noting the rehabilitation of national organizations registered with the Federal General Commission and national organizations that have not yet completed registration procedures with the Federal Commission, so that their work with foreign organizations can be regulated.

The Commissioner-General directed the Northern State Commission to operate under the umbrella of the Technical Mechanism for Humanitarian Emergencies, in accordance with established practice, ensuring close coordination with all institutions serving humanitarian work.

It is worth noting that the Commissioner-General of Humanitarian Aid, Ms. Salwa Adam Baniya, arrived in the Northern State yesterday evening at the head of a delegation as part of a tour that includes several states.
