Joint cooperation between Sudan and Egypt in the fields of higher education

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Mudawi Moussa, praised Egypt’s continuous support for Sudanese students and overcoming the obstacles they face, stressing the depth and strength of the distinguished relations between the two countries. This came during his meeting in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt with Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning, Training, and Qualification for the Labor Market, Acting Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector, and Supervisor of the Egyptian National Committee for Education, Science, and Culture.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between Sudan and Egypt in the fields of higher education, scientific research, and technology.

Prof. Mudawi expressed his aspiration to benefit from Egyptian scientific expertise in the development of the higher education, scientific research and technology system in Sudan.

For his part, Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed the depth of relations between Egypt and Sudan, especially in the field of higher education and scientific research, pointing out his ministry’s constant keenness to strengthen these distinguished relations and develop them in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly countries, indicating his full support for Sudanese students and their support in light of the current circumstances that Sudan is going through, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in this regard, and stressed his keenness to facilitate their admission procedures to Egyptian universities, in order to ensure the preservation of their academic future. Within the framework of the rules and controls in force in Egypt.

It is worth mentioning that the meeting discussed the mechanisms of renewing the executive program between Sudan and Egypt in a way that contributes to enhancing cooperation and achieving integration between the universities of the two countries in various educational and research fields, and also discussed ways to facilitate the procedures for transferring Sudanese students to complete their studies in Egyptian universities at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as the possibility of providing them with training opportunities, in addition to increasing scholarships, and activating academic exchange programs between the two sides.
