Sovereignty Council Member Salah al-Din Adam Tor Meets Minister of Education and National Education

Sovereignty Council Member Salah al-Din Adam Tor met today with Dr. Al-Tuhami Al-Zein Hajar Mohammed, Minister of Education and National Education. The meeting discussed the overall issues facing the education sector in the country and the efforts made to rebuild and rehabilitate educational institutions.

Dr. Al-Tuhami said in a press statement that the meeting addressed the ministry’s plan for the coming period, noting that he briefed the Sovereignty Council member on the challenges and obstacles facing the education sector due to the repercussions of the destruction of educational institutions in the country.

His Excellency noted the ministry’s role in the Khartoum State Reconstruction Committee to advance efforts and promote the voluntary return of citizens.

He indicated the ministry’s contribution in employing (5) thousand teachers, filling the shortage in student seating by 100,000 units, and printing textbooks for all levels.

Dr. Al-Tuhami stated, “The Sovereignty Council member briefed us on the Ministry’s role in the 2025 Sudanese Certificate Examinations, for the batch postponed to 2024, which were held in Chad.”

He noted that the Sovereignty Council member expressed his appreciation for the Ministry’s role and commendable efforts in holding the Sudanese Certificate Examinations in Chad, indicating that he promised to follow up on teachers’ salary issues with Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan.
