Faculty Council of Nile Valley University Enhances Academic Development by Approving New Programs and International Scholarships

The Faculty Council of Nile Valley University held its regular meeting No. (3) of 2025, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council
of the University, Professor Hassan Al-Sa’im.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Wesal Othman, Acting Secretary of Academic Affairs, deans of colleges, their deputies, and department heads.
At the beginning of its work, the Council approved the minutes of the previous meeting No. (2) of 2025. It then approved the graduation results for several colleges, including Agriculture, Basic Education, the Deanship of Distance Education, Technology and Human Development, Graduate Studies, Minerals and Earth Sciences, and Medicine and Health Sciences. This step embodies the university’s pioneering role in providing society with qualified cadres.
The Council also approved the list of students nominated for the Nile Valley University Award for Scientific and Academic Excellence, a gesture that confirms the university’s commitment to instilling a culture of creativity and excellence among its students and motivating them to achieve greater success.
The Council reviewed the report of the Secretariat of Academic Affairs, which included the work of the advisory committees, examinations, awards, and admissions, in addition to the most prominent training activities and workshops.
A workshop on artificial intelligence was held with the participation of several faculty members. The report also reviewed the receipt of scholarships provided by the Kingdom of Morocco for the years 2025-2026, totaling (20) seats allocated to Sudanese students.
It also included scholarships for master’s and doctoral degrees from the Organization for Scientific Research (OSC) at Brazilian universities, as well as fellowship opportunities for Sudanese researchers provided by Japan.
Regarding conferences, the Secretariat received an invitation to participate in the Eleventh Conference on the Arabic Language in Dubai through the Association of Arab Universities.
Meanwhile, the Authorship, Translation, and Publication Committee continued its meetings, resulting in the promotion of a number of faculty members across various colleges. The report also addressed faculty member reviews across various colleges.
The Council strengthened the university’s academic development process by approving proposals for new, qualitative programs, including a Master’s program in Animal Production, a Bachelor’s program in Dentistry, and a Doctorate program in Business Administration. Professor Hassan Al-Sa’im emphasized that what has been achieved represents an extension of Nile Valley University’s vision of scientific openness locally and internationally, and strengthening its position as an academic institution that provides Sudan and the world with qualified competencies that contribute to comprehensive renaissance.
