Manawi: The world will not respect us until we take action

On his Facebook page, Commander Minni Arko Minawi wrote the following: “Our national duty today requires us to act immediately to save our steadfast people in El Fasher. There is no room for escape or retreat. The crisis there requires us, as armed forces, joint forces, and popular resistance, to assume our responsibilities and work to lift this unjust siege. In El Fasher, more than 900,000 people live, including displaced people from Zamzam, Abuja, and Abu Shouk, who have endured for two full years without support or food. Yet, they have shown unparalleled courage. There are doctors performing operations in the trenches, and a people resisting despite their wounds. The delay is our fault, not theirs. The battles in Al-Maliha, Al-Khawi, Al-Zarq, and Umm Samima were the road to El Fasher, and they contributed to shattering the militia’s power and saving Sudan from collapse. As for the world around us, they will not provide us with assistance or respect until we rise and move of our own volition. Today, we are moving forward, and every step we take will increase the world’s respect for us. I am proud of the existence of a national committee to lift the siege of El Fasher.” It represents all of Sudan and proves that this country cannot be broken.
