Women National Group (WNG), in cooperation with the Commission for Combating Violence Against Women Unit and the Center for Women’s Studies at Red Sea University, is organizing an important workshop titled: “Sudanese Women,s agenda and fair participation in rebuilding Sudan after the war” next Monday, September 8, 2025, in Port Sudan.

The workshop aims to strengthen the leadership role of Sudanese women in peace and reconstruction processes and brings together representatives of transitional authorities, women’s and civil society organizations, academics, and international bodies, as well as women leaders from war-affected communities.

The workshop will discuss several key themes, including women’s participation in peacebuilding and transitional justice, political and economic empowerment, psychosocial support, and legislative reforms. It also aims to issue a unified national document for the Sudanese women’s agenda and provide practical recommendations to decision-makers including allocating fair positions to women, and adopting a national plan for women’s recovery after the war.

The workshop concludes with the establishment of a women-academic coordination network to follow up on the implementation of recommendations and enhance the role of women in the future of Sudan.
