The Attorney General takes the oath of office before the Head of the Sovereignty Council
Judge Intisar Ahmed Abdel-Aal Ahmed took the oath of office today before the Head of the Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, as Attorney General of the Republic of Sudan. The oath was attended by a representative of the Chief of the Judiciary and the Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed Al-Gali Ali Youssef.
Intisar said, “I feel a great sense of responsibility and duty,” affirming her absolute commitment to protecting the rule of law, consolidating the values of justice, and preserving the dignity of the Sudanese people.
She added that the country is going through a delicate and sensitive phase in its history that requires cooperation and solidarity to protect national unity and social cohesion. She added that there are major challenges, emphasizing the Sudanese people’s ability to overcome them.
She added that the Public Prosecution represents one of the pillars of the state and its primary guarantee of the protection of rights. It is also the faithful guardian of the rule of law, the protective shield, and the voice of society in the face of transgressions and violations. She added that her mission, which she will work to achieve, is to uphold the rule of law and hold accountable anyone who dares to tamper with the capabilities of the Sudanese people or confiscate their rights.
She emphasized that the Public Prosecution’s priorities include prosecuting perpetrators of crimes and serious violations, combating corruption of all kinds, and working diligently to prevent impunity. She emphasized her commitment to protecting the most vulnerable groups in society, especially women and children, and ensuring their easy access to justice. and fairness, adding that justice is built through the trust we instill in citizens.
Intisar affirmed that the doors of the Public Prosecution will remain open to all, and we will work to strengthen communication with the community and uphold the principle of transparency to ensure justice for all without exception.
She added that we will move forward with determination, resolve, and cooperation with all state institutions and our local and international justice partners to build strong institutions that uphold the law and protect the interests and aspirations of the Sudanese people.
She said, “I will continue to serve this nation, placing justice at the forefront of my mind and making the interests of Sudan and its sons and daughters the compass that guides our steps in establishing justice.”
