Important Statements by Minnawi from Berlin

Darfur Region Governor Minni Arko Minnawi held a meeting with members of the diplomatic mission at the Sudanese Embassy in Berlin, in the presence of the Advisor to the Governor, Ahmed Yaqoub Sharif, Ambassador Idris Saeed, and Consul General Sami Al-Hajj.

Minnawi received a comprehensive briefing from Ambassador Idris Saeed on the work of the diplomatic mission in Berlin, including coordination efforts with German authorities and their continued support for humanitarian aid provided to the Sudanese people through UN agencies, in addition to strengthening health and education programs.

The Ambassador emphasized that this cooperation contributes to enhancing the efficiency of relief efforts and directing support more effectively.

During the meeting, Minnawi provided a comprehensive explanation of the latest developments in Sudan and the political, security, and economic challenges facing the country, stressing the importance of coordination and concerted efforts between state institutions and diplomatic missions to address major crises.

He emphasized that Sudan is going through an exceptional phase that has directly impacted the humanitarian situation, with millions of citizens suffering from displacement, disruption of basic services, and scarcity of supplies, especially in cities besieged by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

He emphasized that overcoming this crisis must be based on national unity and support for humanitarian efforts, while also bolstering the international community’s support for urgent relief programs.

Minnawi called on the international community to assume its moral responsibilities toward the Sudanese people by providing direct and urgent support to the displaced and affected, and facilitating the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.

He emphasized that the continued deterioration of the humanitarian situation poses a threat to regional and international stability, which makes it imperative for international partners to stand with the Sudanese people at this critical stage by supporting relief and sustainable development programs and strengthening the resilience of local communities.
