Lieutenant General Eng. Ibrahim Jaber appreciates the role of the private sector

Within the framework of the program to prepare the environment for the return of citizens to Khartoum State, Lieutenant General Eng. Ibrahim Jaber, a member of the Sovereignty Council, paid a field visit to a number of facilities and projects, including the Sudanese Chemical Industries Company in the Bahri area, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, the Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, and the Secretary General of Medicines and Poisons.

The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health stressed that the state’s support for the national pharmaceutical industries, pointing out that medicine represents national security, and that national factories contribute to achieving the abundance of medicines.

He also promised to solve the obstacles facing these factories, especially after 26 factories were destroyed by the Rapid Support Militias, praising the efforts of the Chemical Industries Company in returning to the manufacture of essential medicines, and expecting the return of a number of factories in the coming period before the end of the year.

The Secretary-General of the National Council for Drugs and Poisons, Dr. Ali Babiker, explained that the visit of the member of the Sovereignty Council represents a strong boost to the return of production, and confirms the state’s interest in supporting national factories.

He pointed out that the Chemical Industries Factory is one of the oldest factories in the country, and is located in the Bahri area, which includes 50% of the factories, explaining that the factories contribute 35% of the total pharmaceutical abundance, expecting that 50% of the factories will return to work and production by the end of 2025.
