The cholera vaccination campaign continues in North Kordofan and White Nile States

The Federal Chamber for the Cholera Vaccination Campaign in three states confirmed that (53,913) people received the cholera vaccine in the locality of Shikan in North Kordofan state within three days, out of a total target of (155,482) people. While (145,030) people received the vaccine in the localities of Tindalti and Qatina in the White Nile during the same period, out of the target of (455,385) people.

The Chamber pointed out that (61,355) people were covered with the vaccine in the localities of Sinja and Abu Hajar in Sennar province within one day, as the campaign was launched on Wednesday, out of a total of (507,854) people.

In its meeting today at the General Administration of Basic Health Care in the city of Kassala, in the presence of epidemiologist Dr. Babiker Al-Maqbool and the Director of the Expanded Immunization Program, Ismail Al-Adani, the Chamber reviewed reports from liaison officials related to the progress of the campaign in the three states, including the plans of the federal supervisors and their observations on teams and homes, recommendations, and health promotion activities in its various axes, as well as the supply situation, side effects and monitoring of cases during the campaign, and the coverage situation.

The Chamber reiterated that vaccination alone is not enough, as precautionary obligations must be implemented, including washing hands regularly with soap and water, and avoiding eating contaminated food.
