Inauguration of vital health and development projects in Port Sudan with the support of Saudi Arabia

The Red Sea State, Port Sudan, witnessed the inauguration of a number of vital health and development projects, with the support of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, through the national partner “Kafaat Organization for Studies and Human Development”, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris, Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, Governor of the Red Sea State Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Noor, and His Excellency Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Jaafar, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Sudan, in addition to a number of Sudanese officials.

The inauguration included the provision of the children’s hospital with the latest advanced medical equipment, including intensive care units and neonatal units, noting that it will be the first reference and training center in Sudan, and the building has been fully rehabilitated by SABA and supported by UNICEF
In addition, a medical oxygen station with a daily production capacity of 120 cylinders was inaugurated, serving the Accident Teaching Hospital, the Children’s Hospital and a number of vital facilities in the state. A desalination plant with a production capacity of 50 cubic meters per day was also inaugurated to provide four major hospitals in Port Sudan with healthy and clean water.

This humanitarian and development support is an extension of the leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the stability of Sudan and enhancing its health and social security, within the framework of the extended brotherly partnership between the two brotherly peoples.
