Salma Abdel-Jabbar Inspects Agricultural Production Fields in Sennar State

Sovereignty Council member Salma Abdel-Jabbar Al-Mubarak said during her visit to the Arab Sudanese Seed Company project in Sennacherib that expanding agriculture and increasing production and productivity is the appropriate response to confronting the economic targeting that seeks to disrupt the country’s resources.

She noted that the state, at its highest levels, is committed to developing production projects, with a particular focus on agricultural production.

The Sovereignty Council member added that the war on Sudan is a comprehensive war with multiple forms. Therefore, the rebel militia has resorted to disrupting production projects, targeting factories and agricultural projects, looting machinery, and destroying laboratories.

Dr. Salma praised the dedication of the Sudanese people and the steadfastness of its farmers, embodying the slogan “One hand holds a weapon and the other holds a pickaxe,” which has contributed to achieving this abundant agricultural production despite the war. She emphasized that this is an effective response to the false allegations of famine in the country.

In addition, the Sovereignty Council member affirmed her support and follow-up with the state government to overcome the problems facing the Arab Sudanese Seed Company, particularly regarding the import of fertilizers to increase production efficiency and meet farmers’ needs for improved seeds.

For his part, the Governor of Sennar, Major General Eng. Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed, revealed the state government’s interest in continuous agricultural development and supporting the use of modern agricultural technologies to achieve vertical expansion and increase farmers’ income.

The Director of the Arab Sudanese Seed Company, Al-Siddiq Ahmed Al-Mustafa, indicated that the company is focused on producing improved seeds, as they are the most important component of the production process, calling on the relevant authorities to provide production inputs on time.
