A committee for the Rehabilitation of Health Facilities in Khartoum State Convenes

The Committee for the Rehabilitation of Health Facilities in Khartoum State held its first meeting today, Thursday, July 24, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health in the state, in implementation of Resolution No. (153) of 2025 issued by Lieutenant General Eng. Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, and Chairman of the Supreme Committee to Create the Appropriate Environment for the Return of Citizens to the State.
The meeting was chaired by the Acting Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Esmat Mustafa, while the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, participated via video conferencing technology (Zoom).
The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State, Dr. Fathur Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, also served as the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, and Dr. Mahmoud Al-Qaim assumed the duties of the Rapporteur ,with the participation of a number of members from the relevant authorities.
The meeting discussed the committee’s founding decision, the proposed work mechanisms to implement the tasks of rehabilitating health facilities, and presented a comprehensive report on the current health situation in Khartoum State, especially regarding the damaged health care facilities. The discussions included reviewing field reports, making recommendations, and estimating the costs needed to start implementation.
Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim stressed that the committee aims to urgently restart health facilities and create the appropriate environment for the recovery of the health system, pointing out that the action plan includes short- and long-term goals according to a clear timetable that restores confidence in the level of health services in the state.
Dr. Fattah Al-Rahman Mohammed Al-Amin emphasized the importance of facing the current epidemiological challenges, pointing out that preparing for the autumn season requires the provision of pesticides ,labor and the necessary means of management, stressing that public health at this stage requires an effective and rapid response.
