Training workshop on the Nutrition Supply Management System Launches

As part of the continuous efforts of the National Nutrition Program at the General Directorate of Basic Health Care at the Federal Ministry of Health to improve the efficiency of the nutrition supply chain, a training workshop on the nutrition supply management system was launched today at the Prince Hall in Kassala and with the support of the World Food Program, targeting supply officers in 11 localities in Kassala State, in preparation for its implementation throughout Sudan.
The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Kassala State, Shaa Al-Din Mohamed Hamza, stressed in the opening of the workshop, the improvement of nutritional indicators following the implementation of the Nutrition Supply Management Information System electronically, thus improving the health of children.
The Acting Director of the General Directorate of Basic Health Care, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Abdullah, confirmed that the system comes within the continuous efforts of the nutrition program to improve the efficiency of the nutrition supply chain, in order to achieve its continuity and fill the shortage of nutritional support in the event of its occurrence, noting that the success of the program depends greatly on the supply officers, appreciating the World Food Program for its support.
Meanwhile, the Director of Maternal and Child Health, Dr. Ismahan Al-Khair, said that nutrition plays a pivotal role in reducing morbidity and mortality among children under five years of age.
The Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) noted the importance of the training workshop to manage the information system and solve the problem facing supply at the central and state levels, expressing her happiness to participate in the workshop.
The Director of the National Nutrition Program, Dr. Naha Salehin, considered the training as an initial step to build the nutrition supply system, especially in light of the conditions that the country is experiencing after the war.
