Minister of Higher Education Arrives to Assume Duties

Professor Ahmed Mudawi Musa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, arrived in the country yesterday.
Prime Minister Kamil Idris recently issued a decree appointing him to the Government of Hope.
He was received upon arrival at Port Sudan Airport by Professor Mohamed Hassan Dahab, who had previously served as Minister of Higher Education, along with a number of ministry and higher education officials.
It is worth noting that Professor Ahmed Mudawi is a prominent physician and academic, and a professor of immunology and infectious diseases at the University of Khartoum.
He served as Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Khartoum and Director of the Institute of Endemic Diseases between 2011 and 2019.
He holds a PhD and a Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCPI), diplomas in tropical medicine and infectious diseases from the University of London, and a Master’s degree in tropical medicine and global health.
A number of observers believe his appointment reflects the new government’s commitment to advancing higher education and promoting scientific research through leaders with extensive academic and scientific expertise.
