Jaber inspects progress of work at Shendi and Safola stations south of Khartoum

Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, a member of the Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Preparing the Environment for the Return of Citizens to Khartoum State, praised the efforts of Sudanese electricity sector workers, describing their efforts in the areas of generation, transmission, and distribution during these circumstances as an achievement worthy of praise and appreciation.

This came during his inspection yesterday Shendi Electricity Distribution Station in Khartoum North, accompanied by the Governor of Khartoum and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Oil.
They observed the efforts being made to connect electricity to a number of vital facilities and residential neighborhoods in Khartoum North and East Nile locality.
His Excellency promised to provide the necessary supplies to return the station to operation as soon as possible.
In Safola area, south of Khartoum, a Sovereignty Council member observed maintenance work and the reconnection of the high-voltage line at kilometer ten station, carried out by the Electricity Transmission Line Maintenance Unit, to provide electricity to the industrial sector.
He noted that the return of this sector will provide job opportunities and greater stability for returnees.

For his part, the Governor of Khartoum explained that the committee delegation’s visit to a number of health facilities in Khartoum North is significant because they offer special services to a significant percentage of citizens.
He said, “Their return will greatly contribute to supporting the state’s efforts to prepare the environment for citizens’ return.”

The Governor also indicated that Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber’s visit came in response to an invitation from the Muawia Al-Bereir Group to examine the private sector’s contribution to the return of national industry and the provision of local products that achieve abundance and reduce costs.
The delegation visited production lines in the fields of packaging, school book printing, notebooks, and office supplies.
