Al-Burhan issues decision to form an investigation committee into US allegations of chemical weapons use

Head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, issued a decision to form an investigation committee into US allegations of the use of chemical weapons in the country’s war.

A statement from the Sudanese Foreign Ministry, said: “In compliance with Sudan’s international obligations, including the Chemical Weapons Convention, and within the framework of the transparency pursued by the Sudanese government and its disbelief in the veracity of the US administration’s accusations that Sudan has used chemical weapons, the Head of the Sovereignty Council issued a decision to form a national committee comprising the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and the General Intelligence Service to investigate these US allegations.
The committee is to submit its report immediately.”
