Agar briefs Museveni on the overall situation in Sudan

Deputy Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander Malik Agar Ayre, met with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on the sidelines of his participation in the meetings of the Regional Mechanism for Monitoring the Framework Agreement on Peace, Security and Cooperation in the Great Lakes Region, held in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.
In a press statement, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, said that Agar briefed Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, the Chairperson of the Mechanism, on the overall developments in the political and military situation in Sudan, as well as the appointment of a new Prime Minister and the formation of the anticipated government in the coming period.
His Excellency added that the meeting addressed the regional dimensions of the war waged by the rebel terrorist militia against Sudan and its external support.
The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs indicated that the Deputy Head of the Sovereignty Council expressed Sudan’s hope that President Museveni, as the new Chairperson of the Regional Mechanism, would play a role in addressing the situation in Sudan, given its importance in a region that fears negative movements exploiting the repercussions of the breakdown of security.
