Dissolution of the Sudanese government

The political situation in Sudan is witnessing the launch of consultations to form a new government, following the appointment of Kamil as Prime Minister. Sources expect that Finance Minister Gibril Ibrahim and Foreign Minister Omar Siddiq will retain their positions during the expected new government.

In the same vein, the new Prime Minister, Kamil Idris, announced his intention to serve in his position without any financial allocations or housing from the state, an unprecedented step that reflects his commitment to transparency and integrity of governance. He pledged to disclose his full financial assets before taking the constitutional oath, stressing that this approach will also apply to all members of his prospective ministerial team.
Sources revealed that the Head of the Sovereignty Council chose Kamil to head the government after studying several nominated names. They expected that the Prime Minister would take the constitutional oath next Wednesday and dissolve the government, before entering into consultations to form his government with a full mandate, as stipulated in the amended constitutional document. The same sources reported that a decision was issued to end the supervision of the Sovereignty Council members over the ministries, to grant the new Prime Minister full powers in managing the executive branch.
