Federal Emergency Operations Center Reveals Low Cholera and Dengue Fever

The meeting of the Federal Emergency Operations Center revealed a decrease in the incidence of cholera and dengue fever in all reporting states except Khartoum, while the incidence of measles increased, recording (138) infections in (3) states (North Darfur among the displaced in Tawila locality, River Nile, and White Nile) during the week of 18 (3-9 May). The meeting reviewed the reports of preparation for the fall semester of 2025, pointing out that teams were sent to a number of states to assess the preparations for the semester. The report of the Department of Environmental Health and Food Control noted activities including the reading of (2164) sources within the network, out of a target of 2543 sources (85% of the states of Gezira, Sennar, Gedarif, White Nile, Kassala, and Khartoum), of which 279 were conforming and 68 non-conforming. In the field of food, 10,792 shops were inspected, out of a target of 14,199 shops, achieving 75%.

The Acting Minister of Health in , Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, praised in his intervention the positive results in containing epidemics, and the great ability to detect cases scientifically and practically, and attributed this to teamwork and coordination.
