SFPA (River Nile Branch Explores a UNICEF-funded integrated nutrition program

Acting Executive Director of Sudan Family Planning Association (SFPA), Hatim Hashim addressed the launch of the integrated nutrition campaigns, which were implemented by the SFPA with support from UNICEF and in cooperation with the General Administration of Primary Health Care, the Maternal Health Department of the Ministry of Health in River Nile State.

River Nile State is a key player in implementing multiple health projects in the Ed-Damer locality, which have a positive impact on maternal health.
He announced his support and sponsorship for all the Family Planning Association’s programs in River Nile State.

For her part, Executive Director Ms. Kawthar Mohamed Ibrahim, , emphasized that the Steadfastness (Sumoud) project aims to change misconceptions about nutrition through awareness-raising and the availability of food. She emphasized that UNICEF’s project requires significant efforts to vaccinate children and search for new cases.
She added that the association has trained supervisors and volunteers, and that there are approximately 29 volunteers covering health centers in Ed-Damer.

the Director of the Immunization Department in Ed-Damer Locality, Mr. Karar Madani, stated that the house-to-house awareness campaign represents a protective measure for children from the risks of disease.
He announced the opening of several centers in Ed-Damer to cover those arriving from the war zones.
He added, in his speech, that the areas and villages of Sidon in Ed-Damer Locality suffer from fragility, drought, and severe poverty, which requires the provision of comprehensive nutritional meals to local communities.
He praised UNICEF for its support of maternal health.
