NHIF: A federal team to assess the services and recovery plan for Gezira State after the war

The Director of the General Administration of Health Services confirmed the initiative of the National Health Insurance Fund( NHIF) ,Acting Director General, Dr. Siddiq Al-Tayeb Wahballah, highlighted the role of the state of Gezira in supporting Sudan, congratulating the victories of the army and the supporting forces.

The Acting Director General emphasized the importance of achieving health coverage and population coverage in Gezira State. This statement came during his chairmanship of the meeting of the federal supervision team, which was attended by team members and directors of departments and sections in the Fund’s branch.

Wahballah stated that the team came to assess the service, administrative, and technical situation after the war and to develop a recovery plan, stressing the commitment of the Ministry of Finance and the presidency of the Fund to finance reconstruction.

He directed the partners in the health sector and civil society organizations working in the field to benefit from the diversity of payment systems to restore medical services in health institutions. In addition, he emphasized the importance of studying the reality of population coverage, following quality standards, and reviewing the structures and interventions necessary to activate performance. Furthermore, he highlighted the need to address the humanitarian situation in the state to achieve universal health coverage, reiterating the interest of the Fund’s presidency in supporting the recovery of the health sector on the island.

The Director of the Health Insurance Branch in the state of Gezira, Dr. Al-Amin Hussein Omar, valued the interest of the Fund’s presidency and the supportive role of supervision in advancing reconstruction efforts, stressing the state’s need for continued material and technical support to rise again.
