A workshop to analyze the current situation and develop the national strategy for the immunization program 2026-2030, organized by the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) at the Federal Ministry of Health in cooperation with the World Health Organization, kicked off this morning at the Al-Rayh Al-Tarifi Hall in Kassala city. It will last for three days and comes under the slogan “Together for Justice in the Provision of Immunization Services.”
The Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, when addressing the opening session of the workshop, stressed that the event comes at a pivotal moment in the history of the country to develop a strategy for better systems of interventions for the benefit of all children. He also highlighted the arrangements for the restoration of the cold chain and supply in the states, especially since the rebel militia has deliberately sabotaged and destroyed many chains. He declared a commitment to support children’s activities in general, and the immunization program in particular, for its role in reducing morbidity and death, categorically adhering to and supporting the outputs of the workshop.
In addition, the Director of the Expanded Program on Immunization, Ismail Al-Adani, said that the program succeeded during the two years in achieving many achievements in cooperation with partners, despite the challenges.
