Al-Burhan Receives Phone Call from UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs

Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, Head of the Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, received a phone call today from Tom Fletcher, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations.
During the call, humanitarian issues and the delivery of humanitarian aid to El Fasher were discussed.
The call addressed the possibility of delivering aid to El Fasher while avoiding obstacles to humanitarian convoys from the terrorist rebel Rapid Support Forces militia or other groups.
The need to deliver aid quickly via roads that facilitate the passage of humanitarian convoys to El Fasher was emphasized.
The United Nations had requested the establishment of logistical supply bases around El Fasher to facilitate humanitarian work, in the areas of Mellit and Tawila, and the Government of Sudan agreed to this.
