Al-Burhan phones President of the Republic of South Sudan

Head of the Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan made a phone call today with the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit.

During the call, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common interest.

During the call, Al-Burhan was reassured about the overall situation in South Sudan following the events that the country witnessed.

He stressed the Sudanese government’s keenness to sustain security and stability in South Sudan.

Al-Burhan pointed out that stability and security in the South Sudan reflect positively on the overall situation in Sudan.
He added “The security and stability of Sudan is an integral part of the security and stability of the State of South Sudan.”

For his part, the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Head of the Sovereignty Council, stressing his commitment to working to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries, noting the keenness of the Government of South Sudan to establish security and stability and return the security situation to normal in his country.
