Al-Burhan meets the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister

Head of the Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, 1st. Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan met Saturday with the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Burhan Al-Din Duran in the presence of Ambassador Ali Youssef, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan.
Ambassador Ali Youssef said that the meeting touched on bilateral relations between Sudan and Turkey and areas of joint cooperation, indicating that the meeting also addressed the Turkish initiative that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had presented to the Head of the Sovereignty Council. He indicated that the initiative is within the framework of achieving peace in Sudan, stressing that the Head of the Sovereignty Council welcomed this initiative and asked the Turkish Minister to convey this welcome to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish Foreign Minister who is in charge of the details of managing this initiative.
Ambassador Ali Youssef said that the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister held several meetings during his visit with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Economic Planning, indicating that the visit is an important visit that carried the aspirations of Turkey, government and people, towards Sudan and its people.
The Foreign Minister said that these meetings touched on the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that the Turkish Minister said that his country is about to open a Turkish bank in Port Sudan to contribute to strengthening and enhancing joint trade relations, in addition to opening a headquarters for the Turkish Aid Organization, which is concerned with providing development and humanitarian aid in various countries of the world, and revealed that there are (3) ships carrying thousands of tons of humanitarian aid to Sudan, pointing out that the Turkish initiative could lead to real efforts to achieve peace in Sudan.
For his part, the Turkish President’s envoy expressed his happiness to visit Sudan, stressing the necessity of Sudan’s sovereignty and the unity and integrity of its territories, pointing out his country’s support for all regional and international initiatives aimed at addressing the Sudanese crisis.
He said that his country is making valuable efforts to achieve peace and stability in Sudan, indicating that Turkey’s approach to ending the war in Sudan is clear, thanks to the distinguished relations between the two countries.
He added that what his country is doing is a process that requires concerted efforts and then working to bring together regional actors and overcome difficulties in the issue of ending the conflict in Sudan.
He added that the presence of the Turkish embassy in Sudan since the outbreak of the war and its work in Port Sudan is evidence of Turkey’s determination to stand by Sudan and its people.
The Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister explained that the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) is currently working to reopen its offices in Port Sudan, in addition to opening a branch of the Turkish Agricultural Bank.
He pointed to the contributions of Turkish governmental and non-governmental relief agencies in providing humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people, in addition to maintaining the Turkish hospital in Nyala, which is currently operating and providing its services to citizens.
