IGAD Executive Secretary, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu posted the following on x platform:

“The people of Sudan are suffering as the world prepares to celebrate Christmas and New Year. A nation once hosting millions of refugees, rich in cultural heritage ,wisdom and the most generous people of Sudan has continued to live under conflict, hunger, and displacement. I appeal to regional leaders, the international community, and specially parties in the conflict: let wisdom prevail and peace be restored.”
