AL Secretary-General arrives in Sudan

Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit will begin a two-day visit to Sudan tomorrow.

Dr. Ali Youssef Ali Al-Sharif, Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the visit of the Secretary-General of the Arab League, and said in a statement to the Sudan News Agency that the visit comes within the framework of the League’s interest in what is happening in Sudan, confirming its support for the unity of Sudanese territories and the sovereignty of the country, in addition to solidarity with the Sudanese people in confronting the serious violations committed by the rebel Rapid Support Militia.

He described the visit as important at this time, as it comes to confirm the League’s support for Sudan’s right to defend its land and protect its people.
