Al-Burhan meets the AJOC Chairman

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, 1st. Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, met in his office today with the Chairman of the Abyei Joint Oversight Committee (AJOC) – Sudan side – Lieutenant General of Police Dr. Hamid Manan Mohamed.

The Chairman of the Committee said in a press statement that he provided an update to the Head of the Sovereignty Council on the overall situation in the Abyei area and the efforts made to enhance peaceful coexistence among the components of the people of the region, and the results of the meetings held by the AJOC Delegation from Sudan with UNISFA, to resume joint meetings between the two sides in Sudan and the State of South Sudan during the coming period.

Lieutenant General Mannan added that he informed the Head of the Sovereignty Council of the ongoing arrangements for the conference, which will be held during the period from 9-12 of this month in Abyei between the Misseriya and Dinka components, which lays the foundations for peace in the region, praising the level of great cooperation and coexistence between all components of Abyei, pointing to the support of Al-Burhan to all programs and projects that would achieve peace and peaceful coexistence in the region.
