Hamdok-led Alliance holds RSF responsible for killing civilians in central Sudan

The Coordination of Civilian Democratic Forces (Taqadum), headed by former Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok, held the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) fully responsible for the violations it described as massive that civilians were subjected to in the villages of Al-Seriha, Azraq and Al-Tekina, north and east of Gezira State.

The RSF militia had attacked citizens on Friday in the Al-Seriha area in Gezira State in central Sudan and committed a human massacre that claimed the lives of 124 martyrs from the defenseless population and wounded 200 others.
It also kidnapped 150 other citizens and took them to the Kab Al-Jedad area on the western Gezira-Khartoum highway.

Taqadum added that it followed with great concern the developments in northern Gezira State, and the campaign of heinous and widespread violations that targeted the villages of “Al-Seriha, Azraq, and Al-Tekina” and a number of villages in northern Gezira, which were subjected to mass killings, especially in the “Al-Seriha” area, by the RSF, where hundreds of villagers were killed and injured, after the forces stormed the area and began shooting at citizens.

The alliance pointed out that a large number of citizens were captured and treated in a humiliating manner, as documented by elements of the RSF, and the violations committed in video clips showed the abhorrent and inhumane treatment of soldiers with unarmed citizens.

It called on the militia to stop these violations now and immediately against civilians and to hold accountable all their perpetrators, starting with those proven to have committed it through videos published on various social media.
