Interior Minister calls on the international community not to politicize the provision of humanitarian aid

The Minister of Interior, Major General (Rtd.) Khalil Pasha, called on the international community to pressure the rebel militia to adhere to international humanitarian law and human rights, stressing the need not to politicize the provision of humanitarian aid and to search for solutions to the Sudanese political crisis in other platforms, not through international organizations that provide humanitarian aid.
Sayerin pointes, in a press statement at Port Sudan Airport after his return to the country today, Tuesday, after his participation in the annual meeting of the Executive Committee of the High Commissioner for Refugees, to the violations and crimes of the Insurgent militia, which left the largest internal displacement, as it exceeded the number of million internally displaced persons.
He demanded the international community to increase humanitarian aid to suit the scale of the disaster.
Sayerin reiterated Sudan’s commitment to providing all facilities to deliver humanitarian aid through all ports, crossings and ports, and to facilitate internal movement.
“We also met the High Commissioner for Refugees and the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration, and clearly highlighted the extent of the violations and crimes committed by the rebel militia.” he concluded.
