Spotlight: War and Floods in Sudan :A Critical Situation

Sudan has affected greatly by this damn War that borkeour last mid April 2023 .It destroyed the infrastructures, ecomony , , agricultural activity ,not only in the conflict areas , but also all aspects of life in Sudan.
A year and 5 months of conflict in Sudan left behind millions of IDPs and refugees who scattered and flee to the safe states of Sudan and the neighboring countries as we mentioned in our last article.
This conflict coupled the heavy seasonal rains across Sudan.
This was compounded by weather condition in the neighboring countries .
Heavy downpours in Eritrea, Ethiopia and Uganda swelled Sudan ‘rivers that caused river flooding and the destruction in surrounding areas.
This situation of conflict status and rains and floods means refugees and internal displacement where people face dire humanitarian situation.
The Sudanese people who flee to the safe states are now suffering from heavy rains and flash floods that hit most states of Sudan in unpreceded forecasts.
These rains and floods displaced more than 20,000 household across Sudan in 12 states ,says the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The Situation is very critical and complicated, war and floods at is the same equation of the same result and outcome . The victim is the War and floods ‘IDPs .
This conflict has already destroyed crops and disturpted livelihoods. The climate crisis is making those IDPs more vulnerable.
With this brief introduction of the current situation in Sudan that torn and destroyed by war and affected by rains , we say that Sudan danger despite its all natural resources.
These rains are considered the heaviest recorded since 2019, have all parts of Sudan even the northern state.
There are rising fears of outbreak of deadly waterborne diseases like colera in some states of Sudan according to the health reports .
The Sudanese people are swining between the hell of the damn War and danger of rains and floods that exceeded the normal rate which might lead to a critical situation in Sudan.
