Saudi deputy FM holds talks with US envoy to Sudan

Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji on Wednesday received the US Special Envoy to Sudan Tom Perriello at the ministry’s office in Riyadh.
During the reception, they discussed developments in Sudan, ways to enhance cooperation, and issues of mutual interest, the ministry said in a statement.
It is worth noting that the Special Envoy’s tour comes as part of an effort to resume the Jeddah platform, and he began his visits to Egypt, then Addis Ababa, Kenya, and Uganda.
Also, the African Peace and Security Council, at the meeting of presidents early last week, assigned a presidential committee headed by Museveni to bring Al-Burhan and Hemedti together, and Museveni’s consultations are still ongoing in order to persuade the two parties to meet.
