Minnawi Tours Several Western Sudan States

The Governor of the Darfur Region, Head of the Sudan Liberation Army Movement, Mini Arko Minnawi began on Tuesday an inspection tour to a number of Kordofan and Darfur states. The tour covered the cities of North Kordofan State, including Bara and El Obeid

In a meeting with the state’s government, he revealed the formation of a joint chamber of commerce for border trade for cooperation between Darfur and neighboring countries, adding that his government has initiated cooperation with the State of Libya, and proposed the formation of a joint cooperation chamber with North Kordofan to combat cross-border crimes and legalize border trade.

He explained that this is part of the concerns of the states of Darfur, pointing to the importance of transferring the experience of gum culture to the states of Darfur, due to the similarity of the environment between the two states.

For his part, the acting Governor of North Kordofan, Mohamed Ali Al-Toum affirmed that Darfur Region Governor visit to the state, came at a time when the state is witnessing considerable security and social stability in all its 8 localities.

Minnawi visited the dialysis center in El-Obeid, the medical director of the center where  Dr. Youssef Hamed Youssef, complained about the suffering of patients as a result of water scarcity, and stressed that the center consumes about SDG105 per day to cover the cost of providing water, explaining that the cost of one tanker is about SDG35 thousand.

In return Minawi promised to solve the water problem next summer, pointing out that the central government covers the therapeutic need for patients in Darfur states and a number of neighboring countries.
