Gezira Project: Start of cotton ginning operations in Marengan

Governor of the Gezira Project, Dr. Omar Muhammad Marzouq, inaugurated the launch of the cotton ginning operations at Marangan ginning site in the Greater Medani locality, in the presence of project management officials and ginning workers.
the governor expressed his pride of the efforts of the workers in the mills and the harnessing of the available capabilities to operate the mills, calling for the need to move forward in the ginning of all the cotton imported to the yards of the mills, praising the quality of the seed and the produced cotton.
For his part, Eng. Mustafa Ibrahim, General Manager of the Al-Jazeera project gins, announced that the quantities of cotton imported to the ginning yards are estimated at about 1,296 sacks of cotton from the Al-Hosh section, and it is expected that they will produce 450 bales, while the transportation operations are continuing successively from the assembly stations to the ginning stations directly.

It is worth noting that the cotton areas that were cultivated in the Al-Hosh section for seed production are estimated at about one thousand acres, and the harvesting and transportation operations are carried out on a regular basis.
