Medical Delegation from Indian Apollo Hospitals Group Visits Sudan

A medical delegation of Apollo Hospitals in India, including orthopedics and urology specialist, visited East of the Nile Hospital on Saturday for the purpose of cooperation, training, teaching and the exchange of experiences between East of the Nile Hospital and Apollo Hospitals Group.

The Director General of East of the Nile Hospital, Dr. Omer Hashim Hilal, said in his address to the opening sitting of the scientific lecture on bones and urinary tract, that started on Saturday in the hospital hall, that the hospital received a delegation from Apollo Hospitals, India, in the field of orthopedics, specifically the vertebral column, pediatric cancer tumors, and urinary tract tumors. Indicating that the coming period will witness cooperation and development of the hospital in the field of services at the level of education and training and benefiting from experiences in addition to sending consultants, specialists and nurses in the field of services that contribute to providing better services to the patient, who is the focus of medical service.

He revealed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for joint cooperation in the field of training, conducting operations, in addition to providing a service for patients who travel for treatment in India through referral from the East of the Nile Hospital.

He pointed out that the delegation will give a number of lectures, the most important of which is a lecture on the urinary tract, tumors of the urinary tract, which is a rare specialization and which is needed, in addition to a lecture the latest existing technologies, in addition to a lecture on the vertebral chain and modern technology that entered into the operations of the vertebral chain, as well as a lecture with a consultant pediatric surgeon and oncologist about the challenges and modern operations in this field.

On his part, Dr. Sanker, a pediatric orthopedic consultant from Apollo Hospital in India, said that the visit aims to raise the awareness about orthopedic problems in children in particular, pointing out that Apollo Hospitals began in 1984 with one hospital in India specializing in oncology, pediatric surgery and orthopedic departments, and now it owns more than 40 hospitals and provides unique service to patients.
