Khartoum Governor confirms to support the sports activities to protect youth from drugs and qualify them for international competitions

Khartoum State continued the anti-drug campaign through all activities in which young people participate intensively, as they are the main element that the campaign seeks to protect from the threat of drugs.
Khartoum Governor , Ahmed Osman Hamza, affirmed the state’s support for sports and youth activities to achieve two goals, the first is to provide resources to absorb the energy of young people in sports to exclude them from any practice that would affect their behavior, and the second goal is to prepare them to participate in global and local competitions to achieve the best results.

The Governor praised while participating in the Independence Open Swimming Championship under the slogan (No to drugs) at the Scouts House in Khartoum, praised the efforts of the Youth and Sports Council for its continuous support for the success of sports and youth events, saying that sport is unique in bringing together and uniting the peoples of the world.
Hamza pledged to work with the State Swimming Federation to provide a permanent headquarters for the Federation to establish an academy and a house for the Federation to train swimmers according to the foundations that qualify them for international competitions.
The Secretary-General of the Youth and Sports Council, Awad Hamed, announced that the year 2023 will witness a great development in the infrastructure of sports facilities at various levels, and said that the Council has developed an ambitious plan to support sports clubs to achieve honorable results at the local and international levels.
The celebration was attended by the Director of Civil Defense in Khartoum State, the President of the Swimming Federation , the Director of River Rescue and a number of veteran swimmers and athletes.
